So what does “Net-Zero” mean and why is this relevant for asset managers? With the proliferation of data science technology, how can investors interpret and leverage the massive volume of ESG information to manage portfolios and formulate an effective net zero investment strategy? At this webinar, Ms. Sammy Koo, Partner of Strategy and Transactions, EY Hong Kong,  Ms. Vivian Wong, Executive Director of Citic Capital and Ms. Elsa Pau, Founder and CEO of BlueOnion will share insights of the impact of Net-Zero on the investment market in the post-COVID-19 era.

About the Speakers

Ms. Sammy Koo
Partner, Strategy and Transactions
EY Hong Kong

Ms. Sammy Koo is a Partner at EY’s Strategy & Transactions team, advising on debt & capital optimization, raising working capital, refinancing, acquisitions and divestment, alternative and sustainability funding. Notably, she has over 22 years experience at the forefront of business advisory across Greater China in financial feasibility assessments, operational improvement, and financial advisor of numerous Hong Kong public listed companies.

At present, Ms. Koo focuses on ESG strategy, planning and sustainability financing. She led a climate risk advisory project for one of the world-leading logistic companies with operation across over 25 countries to identify the climate change exposure, conduct vulnerability assessment and risk evaluation, propose mitigation measures and advise on the implementation strategy of such measures. She engaged in an ESG Due Diligence for a leading Private Equity Fund to deliver great insights into the target’s ESG risks and opportunities as well as the key matrix on carbon footprint in accordance with several globally recognized ESG frameworks and standards.

Ms. Vivian Wong
Executive Director, Real Estate Group

Ms. Vivian Wong has been working in various roles in the private equity real estate space and business advisory throughout the past 20 years where she has been involved in opportunistic and core real estate transactions spanning across Asia Pacific. She has held various senior positions in finance, operations, transactions and portfolio management.

Ms. Elsa Pau

Elsa is a finance industry veteran who focuses on sustainable, responsible, and impact investing. She advocates for investor protection and drives compelling propositions that benefit real change for the finance community. She is the Group CEO and founder of the FinTech portal, BlueOnion. Her latest venture, BlueOnion, promotes responsible investing by exposing the stewardship practices of asset managers, insurers, pension providers, and public companies.

Her mission for BlueOnion is to steer financial services providers on the pathway of ethical practices to address climate change and social injustice, helping investors achieve optimal returns with the highest moral responsibilities.

Before creating BlueOnion, she was the Owner-operator of the 25-year-old publication, Benchmark and a series of Wealth and Asset Management Awards Programs, Forums, and Quality Study operated under the Benchmark brand.

She currently serves as an investment governor of a family office in Asia and a Committee member of the Hong Kong Council of Social Services Development Fund.

Elsa was once named one of Asia’s Most Influential Women by AsiaWeek.
