During the session, Mr. Benjamin Xu, CFA, Candidate Services Committee member, CFA Society Hong Kong , will provide insights into the Society’s background and member values. Mr. David Tsoi, CFA, Co-Chair of Career Development Committee, will also share his experience on how CFA charter supports his career advancement in the financial industry.

About the Speakers
Ms. Janice Hon
Associate Manager, Global Membership, CFA Institute
Janice Hon is an Associate Manager on the Global Membership team at CFA Institute, based in Hong Kong. She works closely with members, candidates, and societies worldwide to strengthen engagement, build relationships, and ensure member needs are reflected in global strategy and decision making.
With extensive experience across membership management, stakeholder engagement, and business development, Janice brings a practical, member centric lens to her work. She has partnered with societies and market stakeholders on recruitment, retention, and engagement initiatives, and has supported cross market collaboration by building relationships with universities, firms, and professional associations. Her experience spans both regional delivery and global coordination, giving her a well rounded view of how membership value is created and sustained.
Before joining CFA Institute, Janice held senior membership and business development roles at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), working across B2B and B2C environments. Through her career, she has led initiatives in membership growth, communications, events, and customer experience.
Janice holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Western Sydney and has completed executive education in business analytics at Cambridge Judge Business School, as well as the Climate Finance course jointly developed by CFA Institute and ACCA.
Mr. David Tsoi, CFA, CAIA, FRM, CESGA, CAMS
Co-chair, Career Development Committee, CFA Society Hong Kong
David Tsoi is the Head of Product Development at Mirae Asset Global Investments (Global X), where he spearheaded the development of more than 20 ETFs, including APAC's largest covered call ETF and the world’s first Asia green bond ETF.
Before joining Global X, David was the Head of Index Insights, APAC at Nasdaq, where he oversaw index research initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. The team provides research and insights on Nasdaq’s entire product suite, including global broad-based, thematic, multi-factor and option indexes. Earlier in his career, David served at the Securities and Futures Commission, contributing to policy development for the asset management industry and overseeing product authorization, including the approval of Hong Kong’s first ESG ETF.
David holds a broad range of professional qualifications, including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA), and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). He graduated with First Class Honors in Business Administration at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
About the Emcee
Mr. Benjamin Xu, CFA
Candidate Services Committee Member
Benjamin is one of the experienced and senior members in Candidate Services Committee in CFA Society Hong Kong with many years’ experiences in leading the study groups to pass the CFA exams in terms of all the levels. Besides, he also serves as a CFA exam grader and judge for Research Challenge Competition.
Professionally, he is an experienced manager in Vincorn Consulting & Appraisal Limited with more than 9 years’ experiences in business valuation, including company valuation, merger consideration allocation, intangible assets, and financial instrument appraisals, as well as modelling and review work for different industries and clients advise on valuations for purposes such as mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, transactional, litigation use and internal reference.

- The event is exclusively for CFA charter pending candidates, Aug 2026 LIII candidates and 2025-26 new members.
