About the Speakers

Mr. Terrence Ling
Head of ETF Sales
Hang Seng Investment Management Limited

Terrence Ling is now the Head of ETF sales of Hang Seng Investment Management Limited.  He is responsible for the distribution of Hang Seng ETFs, covering both institutional investors and intermediaries including private banks, securities brokers, and family offices.  He is also the team manager managing the ETF sales team to drive the ETF sales at Hang Seng Investment.

Prior joining Hang Seng Investment, Terrence was the Vice President of the Equities department of CMB International.  He was mainly responsible for the development of retail equity business. He was responsible for serving executives of listed companies and high net worth investors. He also represented the company to share the market views in traditional and emerging media. 

He was also the head of ETF distribution at Samsung Asset Management (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., responsible for the distribution and development of exchange-traded fund business.  He represented the company in interviews with different media (including traditional television, radio, and online media platforms) and provides investment education seminars and market analysis to investors.

He also served as the business development manager of J.P. Morgan Asset Management for around 10 years, mainly responsible for promoting and developing the online investment platform business.  Terrence is a licensed representative of Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission No. 4 (advising on securities) and No. 9 (providing asset management) and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration (management and finance) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Mr. Gilbert Wong, CFA
Portfolio Manager and Research Director
Quantbot Technologies

Gilbert Wong is a Portfolio Manager and Research Director at Quantbot Technologies, where he manages a market-neutral equity long/short portfolio seeded by Schonfeld. Before that, he also managed SMAs for US endowments and Middle-East sovereign funds at NorthRock and Morgan Stanley. At Morgan Stanley, Gilbert was also appointed as Head of Asia Quantitative Research; his research team was ranked #1 in the Extel Asia Sellside Survey from 2021 to 2024. Gilbert was also a senior member of the Morgan Stanley Asia Equity Strategy team, and part of the firmwide executive team for the AI integration project. Before that, Gilbert worked at Pictet Asset Management and Franklin Templeton, where he covered macro research and portfolio strategy.

About the Moderator

Mr. Adam Wong, CFA

Adam Wong is currently an Executive Director at a global bank. He was previously an ultra-high-net-worth banker and co-chair of the Asia Advisory Council of JP Morgan Private Bank, and co-founder of the JPM running team in Hong Kong.

Adam serves as Vice Chair and previously served as Chair of the Continuing Education Committee. He was co-chair of Member Services Committee and helped establish the Society’s running team as well as Mentorship Program. He graduated from the University of Hong Kong with First Class Honours, majoring in Economics and Finance. He is a FRM, as well as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.

Remarks

  1. Registration is mandatory; no walk-ins will be entertained. Only registered participants are allowed to stay and attend the event.
  2. For paid events, registration is only confirmed upon receipt of payment. If the registration fee remains outstanding, CFA Society Hong Kong reserves the right to disallow entrance to the event.
  3. Cash and cheque payments are strictly not accepted. Participants should ensure that online payment is successfully completed; otherwise, registration may not be processed.
  4. An administration fee of HK$50 will be charged for any cancellation of confirmed enrollment made on or before 15 May 2026. All cancellation requests must be made in writing and confirmed by email from CFA Society Hong Kong. A refund of the event fee, less the administration fee of HK$50 per person, will be issued for eligible cancellations. The full event fee will be charged for no-shows or cancellation requests after 15 May 2026.
  5. For payments made by credit card, eligible refunds will be processed through the bank, and participants should allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing. The amount will be refunded to the paid credit card account.
  6. Substitutions are allowed, but participants must notify CFA Society Hong Kong prior to the event. Any fee difference resulting from ticket type or the early bird period must be settled to confirm the substitute's registration and seat.
  7. The event organizers reserve the right to change the format or date of the event due to unforeseen circumstances without prior notice.
  8. Should there be any changes to the event dates or other arrangements, participants will be notified via SMS and/or email. Notices will also be posted on the CFA Society Hong Kong’s website, so participants should stay alert for notifications.
  9. For attendance-taking purposes, participants’ names and company names (if applicable) may be provided to the speaker of this event.
  10. If participants experience any discomfort or flu symptoms, they should not participate in the event.
  11. Participants should take good care of their belongings. CFA Society Hong Kong is not responsible for any personal loss.
  12. To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone, participants are expected to treat fellow attendees with respect. Abusive or threatening behavior will not be tolerated, and individuals who behave inappropriately may be asked to leave the event.
  13. To qualify for CPT/CE hours, all participants must attend the full event. After the event, Society staff will verify participants’ check-in and check-out times from the registration system for the purpose of issuing CPT Attendance Letters, and no pro-rata credit hours will be awarded.
  14. No requests for attendance letters will be processed.
  15. In the event of a dispute, the decision of CFA Society Hong Kong shall be final and binding.
